The Las Matildes Mine Interpretation Center is a pioneering space in the Region of Murcia, where visitors can approach, in a didactic and entertaining way, the traces that more than 2,000 years of mining history have left on the landscape, heritage and environment of the Sierra Minera de Cartagena-La Unión, and in which to discover the singularity and interest of the mines that were dedicated to the drainage of the mining basin. Thus, a surprisingly transformed physical environment has been configured, with a great wealth of industrial-mining heritage, and in which there are still areas where nature reveals itself to us almost unaltered with great environmental values.
