'Concert IV of the OSRM Symphonic Cycle'
The Murcia Region Symphony Orchestra is offering its fourth concert of the symphonic cycle at the El Batel Auditorium, with guest violinist Akiko Suwanai and Joana Carneiro conducting.
Joana Carneiro is an acclaimed Portuguese conductor, head of the Teatro San Carlos in Lisbon. This midnight hour is an interesting composition by the British Anne Clyne, widely performed for its beauty and originality. The impressive Japanese violinist Akiko Suwanai will perform the Max Bruch Concerto, one of those considered to be of great virtuosity and technical difficulty.
In the second part, the Concerto by Bela Bartok. In this work the composer uses all the instruments of the symphony orchestra as soloists. He seeks thematic material in Hungarian folklore itself, in suggestive quotations and in his own inventiveness. He uses mathematical elements, the golden ratio and the Fibonacci numerical series, always with melodic ease and naturalness and without any dogmatism that impedes the expressiveness of the work. It was commissioned by Serge Koussevitsky, who conducted its premiere in 1944 with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
