SYNOPSIS

Language, like stone, seeks to outlive us. Roman Lexicon, winner of the Carmen Conde 2024 award, is, above all, a reflection on the desire to endure. From Piazza del Popolo to Via Appia, the collection of poems explores the streets of that Rome that served as María Zambrano's homeland during part of her exile. 

SARA MARTÍNEZ NAVARRO (Cartagena, Spain, 1981) is a poet and translator. Trained in Classical Philology and Philosophy, her poems, translations and essays have appeared in different magazines and anthologies in Spain, Peru, the United States, Chile and Mexico. She is the founder and co-editor of the poetry magazine América Invertida. Her publications include América (IV José Ángel Valente Faculty of Poetry Prize, ed. Universidad de Almería, 2020), Feliz solo en las ruinas (III Esdrújula Poetry Prize, ed. Esdrújula, 2021), Vocación (Alastor, 2023), Nueva muchas tiempos (ed. Esdrújula, 2023) and Léxico romano (Torremozas, 2024), XLI Carmen Conde Poetry Prize.
