CLIMATE CHANGE AND RECYCLING
Presented by: Joaquín Nieto , member of the SEO/BirdLife Board of Directors and winner of the 2022 National Environment and Climate Award
Climate change is a frightening reality that should make us reflect on the model of civilization that has generated it. As a society, we do not fully understand all the consequences or its rapid exponential evolution, but we are becoming aware that we simply do not have the money to deal with the growing damage and that society is breaking down with increasing inequality that costs us more energy and resources every day.
Precisely because of all this, climate change is actually a great opportunity to change everything. And we have a roadmap that is none other than human rights themselves.
Fernando Valladares is a researcher at the CSIC and a professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University. He is a highly cited scientist for his research on biodiversity and the impacts of climate change (valladares.info).
