LOCAL CULTURE: BOOK PRESENTATION `EL PORTÚS, BETWEEN RIGIES AND TAR. ITS HISTORY IS WRITTEN`

The Department of Culture, through its "Cultura Cercana" (Local Culture) program, has republished the book "El Portús entre jarcías y tara" (El Portús Among Rigging and Tar) by Catalina Madrid Gallego and Josefa Ramírez Gallego, descendants of the first settlers of the village of El Portús. Following the re-release, several presentations will be held in various towns west of Cartagena to showcase and share the history of this beautiful and beloved village within our municipality. These presentations will be organized by the residents' associations of Cuesta Blanca, Galifa, Tallante, Canteras, La Magdalena, and Perín. The authors will give a presentation highlighting the maritime and fishing traditions of El Portús, analyzing the origins of this coastal community.
