This traditional event, which brings together locals and visitors every year, is organized by the Carthagonova Polyphonic Choir in collaboration with the Cartagena City Council's Department of Festivities. Under the direction of Pedro Andrés García, the Cartagena-based group—boasting an unbroken 48-year history—will perform a repertoire featuring iconic pieces such as "Ojos negros y grandes" and "Cabo de Palos" by José Espinosa.
The evening will also feature a special guest appearance by the Amadeus Jesús María Choir from Murcia, conducted by Francisco Hernández, presenting a varied program of folk songs, *habaneras*, and classical pieces. Founded in 2005, the Murcian group is affiliated with the Jesús María Alfonso X School and regularly performs accompanied by the Murcia Selección Plucked String Orchestra.
Part of the Regional Choir Exchange, this concert has become a cultural landmark on the Mediterranean coast, a region where the *habanera* tradition experiences a significant surge in popularity during the summer months. Organizers hope to fill the venue with the warmth of both local residents and vacationers for a night where the sea, nostalgia, and music come together.
The Carthagonova Choir, which has trained over 350 singers throughout its history, welcomes new voices and continues its mission to "make Cartagena's choral music a model of excellence," according to the group.
