CARTAGENA THINKS CYCLE THE GOOD DEATH: FERNANDO MARÍN OLALLA AND ABEL JAIME NOVOA JURADO `TO DIE IN PEACE, A RIGHT OF THE 21ST CENTURY´

“Dying in Peace, a 21st-Century Right”
We can understand a peaceful death as one that occurs serenely and calmly, without pain, with the least possible suffering, surrounded by loved ones. In Spain, this is intended to be guaranteed by offering palliative care to people in terminal stages of illness, but also through the Organic Law Regulating Euthanasia (LORE) for those who, in a context of euthanasia, can opt for it to die voluntarily. However, its application still raises many questions today, both for professionals and patients. For this reason, it is essential to explain what circumstances it considers valid for its application, how the request is processed, and what problems arise in its implementation.
