THE ROMAN THEATRE IN SEPTEMBER

The Roman Theatre, in order to evoke our history that is revived every September in the Carthaginians and Romans Festival , launches different activities and routes.

Family activities:

SCIPIO VERSUS HANNIBAL: Family Activity.
This family activity allows participants to learn about the most important events of the Second Punic War and its protagonists, Hannibal and Scipio, as well as one of the most emblematic buildings of the Roman city. Children will become part of a troop or a legion and celebrate the victory at the Roman Theatre of Cartagena.
Location : Roman Theatre Museum. Days : Saturdays in September. Time : 11:00 a.m. Target audience: Families with children aged 6 to 12. Price: €4 and free for Cartagena Puerto de Culturas Club members.

CARTHAGINIANS AND ROMANS. Guided Tour.
The tour begins with a look at daily life, including a visit to the House of Fortune, and continues to the Augusteum and the grand Roman Theatre, a performance venue built during the reign of Augustus and dedicated to his grandsons Gaius and Lucius.
Departure : from the House of Fortune at 10:30 a.m. The tour also includes the Augusteum and the Roman Theatre Museum. Time : 10:30 a.m. Days : Saturdays in September. Price : €16, €14 concession. Cartagena Puerto de Culturas Club: €8.

FROM THE THEATRE TO THE DOMUS OF THE PORTICO. Guided tour.
The route begins at the Roman Theatre Museum, and upon leaving the monument, we will continue to one of the most typical corners of the old Fishermen's Quarter, the Callejon de la Soledad (Alley of Solitude), to visit the preserved remains of the Domus of the Portico.
Location : Roman Theatre Museum and Domus of the Portico. Days : Sundays in July, August, and September. Time : 11:00 a.m. Price : €7 and €3 for Cartagena Puerto de Culturas Club members.

ROMAN AND MEDITERRANEAN CARTAGENA. Guided tour with boat trip.
Cartagena became one of the most important metropolises in the Mediterranean in antiquity. The tour begins at the Roman Theatre Museum, which reflects the power of Rome, and continues to the Forum Museum, the Spanish Pompeii, where you'll find the Baths, majestic buildings with paintings, and sacred sites such as the sanctuary of Isis and Serapis. Furthermore, Cartagena cannot be fully understood without considering its proximity to the sea. Thus, this tour concludes with a boat trip around the bay where Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, and Romans sailed.

NIGHT VISITS

AULAEUM, CURTAIN DOWN. Theatrical tour.
The great Roman architect Vitruvius will offer his vision of the theater. With him, you will enjoy a nighttime visit to the most emblematic work commissioned by Augustus in ancient Carthago Nova. The journey culminates with the unexpected appearance of the imposing Roman Theater's seating area by moonlight, where you will encounter classical theater through the works of Plautus.

THEATER UNDER THE MOONLIGHT. Guided Tour.
Visitors will enjoy a nighttime tour of the most emblematic work commissioned by Augustus in ancient Carthago Nova. This exclusive and relaxed experience begins at the Roman Theatre Museum, led by a guide in a small group. Discover the key aspects of Roman civilization, culminating in the archaeological gem of the Roman Theatre under the moonlight.
