LOCAL CULTURE: 'POPPY FIELD' CULTURAL PROJECT. PERÍN
Poppy Field is a participatory cultural project that combines textile art, land art, environmental action, and cultural mediation in the western part of Cartagena.
Group workshops will be held where participants will create poppies from fabric and recycled materials, constructed on wire hoops. These pieces will be used to create a land art installation in the field, symbolically recreating ancient poppy landscapes.
Following this, a walk will take place in western Cartagena, during which seeds will be distributed to participants, who will then plant poppies at various points along the route. A
biology professional will accompany the walk, providing information on biodiversity loss, ecosystem transformation, and soil degradation.
