In a context in which, with increasing normality, knowledge is mediated and at the service of the premise of creating competent labor, students remain anchored in the role of the “why” of education, and thus forget the relevance of knowledge to become emotionally and intellectually independent. What can be done from schools, institutes and universities to form their own criteria in youth? On the other hand, adults live constantly besieged by unfulfilled expectations that expropriate our will: how can we regain our attention to reconquer our desire?

Carlos Javier González Serrano (Madrid, 1985) is one of the most prominent thinkers worldwide, thanks to his militant claim for intellectual resistance against the emotional powers that subjugate us. He is a professor of Philosophy and Psychology (secondary and university education), regularly collaborates with numerous media outlets, is involved in the prevention and postvention of suicidal behavior in adolescents and young people, and is the author of the successful essay A Philosophy of Resistance .
