ALMEALERA PROJECT

Hay sheds are circular stone constructions that were used to store hay. Although there are fewer and fewer of them because they are rarely used anymore, if you look closely you can find them in many fields, near villages.

Almealera combines performing arts and social transformation. It seeks to promote participation, reflection and social transformation through artistic processes with and from the communities.

A WHEEL THAT SPINS is their first initiative. A mix of documentary theatre with object and material theatre, and oral narration.

Located in a rural area plagued by depopulation, the aim is to promote democracy and cultural rights in rural areas, to make ancestral knowledge and trades visible, and to highlight the cultural heritage safeguarded by the older communities that inhabit the area.
