WHAT IS CRITICAL MASS?

The Critical Mass of Cartagena was born under the auspices of groups that defend sustainable active mobility. Giving priority to pedestrians and cyclists who choose clean and healthy modes of transport and adapting infrastructures for their safety and comfort is the objective that brings together these movements under the platform moviliCT por tu salud.

Spanish cities such as Pontevedra, Vitoria and Seville stand out for their commitment to pedestrianisation, the use of bicycles and public transport, improving the quality of life and reducing emissions. In Pontevedra, traffic has decreased by 97% in the city centre. Vitoria has achieved sustainable 54% of its journeys. Seville, a pioneer in cycling infrastructure, has achieved 9% of journeys by bicycle. The MITECO State Bicycle Strategy seeks to replicate these successes throughout Spain. We believe that Cartagena could be another city on the list.

Going out to cycle in a group through the streets once a month is a way of making ourselves visible, demanding better cycling infrastructure and encouraging more people and the administrations themselves to leave their cars in the background.

WHO PARTICIPATES and WHY PARTICIPATE?

Anyone who can ride a bike or skate can join. Girls and boys, young and old.

Get your bike ready and come ride with us!

Cartagena Piensa supports this movement and invites you to join the bicycle effect: if you join in, everything moves.

Departures: Last Thursday of every month at 8:00 p.m. from El Luzzy. October 31 / November 28 / December 26
