The Roman Theatre Museum has scheduled various activities with Cartagena Puerto de Culturas for the months of December and January. You can enjoy Christmas family activities and routes with History.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, BONA SATURNALIA. Family activity
During this activity you will learn how the Romans celebrated the Saturnalia, which coincides with our Christmas. Afterwards, you will take a tour of the Museum's rooms, where you will discover more details about the festivities from Augustus himself, who was enthusiastic about giving gifts of all kinds during the Saturnalia. The activity will end at the Roman Theatre, where visitors will be offered a piece of music with percussion instruments, and will be able to check the acoustics of the building.

LUCRECIA PRIMA, CITIZEN OF CARTHAGO NOVA. Guided tour
A guided tour that gives us an insight into the daily life of Lucrecia Prima in the ancient Carthago Nova, visiting the main monuments of the city, from her family home, the Domus della Fortuna, continuing through the forum, the sanctuary of Isis, taking a relaxing bath in the thermal baths or attending the theatre with her husband.

FROM THE THEATRE TO THE PORTICO BEHIND THE SCENES. Guided tour
The route will begin with a visit to the Roman Theatre Museum, where we will be able to enjoy a new piece from the Museum, the pictorial panel of Mars recovered from the Theatre's portico. It will continue through the Museum's halls until we reach the magnificent Roman Theatre. Upon leaving the monument, we will continue towards one of the most typical corners of the old Fishermen's Quarter, the Callejón de la Soledad, to visit the newly recovered remains of the western portico, financed with Next Generation funds.

ASCLEPIOS. 2,000 YEARS ON A HILL. Guided tour
A route to discover the cultures and civilisations of Cartagena from the most remote times and get the best panoramic view. We will learn about Roman urban planning, the medieval heritage and the port as the protagonist of the city.
The route will begin at the Panoramic Elevator, reaching the Castillo de la Concepción, from where the entire city can be seen. The visit will continue along the Old Cathedral Church until reaching the Roman Theatre Museum.
Route : Panoramic Elevator, Castillo de la Concepción and Roman Theatre Museum.
Days : Sundays in December and January.
Time : 11:00 a.m. Departure from the Panoramic Elevator.

CARTAGENA, ROMAN AND MEDITERRANEAN. Guided tour with boat ride
Cartagena became one of the most important metropolises in the Mediterranean in ancient times. The route will begin at the Roman Theatre Museum, where the power of Rome was reflected, and will continue to the Forum Museum, the Spanish Pompeii, where the Baths are located, majestic buildings with paintings and sacred places, such as the sanctuary of Isis and Serapis. Furthermore, Cartagena cannot be explained without being close to the sea. Thus, this route ends with a boat ride through the bay where Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans sailed.
Route : Roman Theatre Museum, Roman Forum Museum and a Tourist Boat ride through the bay.
