ARENA TEATRO presents 'The Three Sisters'.
The Three Sisters is about us, and that's why it makes us laugh. It speaks of the paradox of desire. We always aspire and long for what we don't have, and so on. Not getting it frustrates, but what can we do? Understand our pain.
And also invite the spectator to take a step back and appreciate how ridiculous we are. We intend to turn Chekhov's classic on its head. We propose a simple staging, with three performers; but spectacular, with nine characters. A game that involves the spectator between flamenco songs and Russian dances, piñatas and funeral marches, declarations of love and duels, fires and lots of trees.
