YAMPO TEATRO presents 'You had to be a woman. A history of Spanish theatre with a woman's name'.
Baltasara and Calderona, two famous actresses from the Golden Age, go in search of Solano, their fellow actor, whom they have lost on the way to a performance in Madrid . In their search, they will encounter a suspicious, brilliant and extravagant element that will lead them on a journey through time through Spanish theatre.
The show will cover important Spanish theatre characters such as Celestina, Melibea and Areúsa (La Celestina by Fernando de Rojas), the Gypsy (The Gypsy Thief by Lope de Rueda), Chirinos (The Tableau of Wonders by Cervantes), Laurencia (Fuenteovejuna by Lope de Vega), Doña Juana (Don Gil de las Calzas Verdes by Tirso de Molina), Rosaura (Life is a Dream by Calderón de la Barca), Doña Francisca (The Girls' Yes by Leandro Fernández de Moratín), Doña Inés (Don Juan Tenorio by José Zorrilla) and contemporary characters such as Adela (The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico García Lorca), La Pisa Bien (Lights of Bohemia by Valle-Inclán), Carmina (The Story of a Staircase by Buero Vallejo) and Chusa (Going Down to the Moor by José Luis Alonso de Santos).
