THE BOOK OF COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DO THINGS TOGETHER?
(Editorial Almuzara, 2022)
Presented by: Teresa Jular Pérez-Alfaro , designer of technology-based services and Gabriel Navarro from the Cartagena Piensa development group.
This book helps to understand and manage the advantages of participation, encouraging its introduction into processes and activities where it is not currently practiced. The central thesis of this book is that good participation design prevents collective stupidity.
To demonstrate this, nine "participatory pathologies" are first identified and, based on these, practical design strategies are proposed that help to correct them. What is presented is applicable to areas as diverse as a reading club, a choir, a hiking association or a community of neighbours.
It is also useful for a company or a public institution. And, of course, in a neighborhood, a town, a large city and even a country.
