HOW TO UNDERSTAND RADICAL EVIL AND WHY ARE THERE SOME EVIL BEINGS?
Presented by: Carlos S. Olmo, member of the Cartagena Piensa promoter group
We will reflect on the banality of evil from the perspective of Hannah Arendt and other exponents of the History of Philosophy. Understanding the origin of evil has been a crucial issue for philosophical knowledge in its ethical, metaphysical, political and anthropological dimensions. The existence of the possibility of evil leads us to consider the need for its individual, social and cultural definition. We will explore its modes of manifestation and how it is projected in some of the contemporary problems.
