MODERNIST CARTAGENA: Guided tour of Los Remedios Cemetery: THE SILENT CITY

26/04/2026 Seen: 830 times

A guided tour led by María José Muñoz Mora, director of the Chair of Heritage and History of Cartagena, to discover heritage, memory, and art in a unique setting. The Nuestra Señora de los Remedios Cemetery in Cartagena, inaugurated in 1868, is a prime example of what we know as a monumental cemetery, housing 51 elements distinguished by their artistic and historical value. Within its grounds, it brings together a large number of silent resting places with significant architectural, stylistic, and heritage value. These structures were designed by the same architects who built the other city (the vibrant city), such as Víctor Beltrí and Carlos Mancha, among others. They represent a valuable example of the architecture of the period and serve as a repository of the city's collective memory.

Meet at 11am at the Cemetery Gate

Schedule: 11:00 to 13:00. Group of 30 people.
