PHILOSOPHY TO TRY TO UNDERSTAND THE WORLD: ANTIDOTES FOR DEFEAT
Does it make sense to start battles with no hope of victory? What's the point of fighting?
In recent years, our memory has been filled with events that, skillfully interwoven, lead to resignation. Economic crises (2008), pandemics, the climate emergency, the triumph of bullying in international relations (Donaldrán)... And on top of that, the overwhelming individual need to be productive and successful at any cost. Trying to understand this world and seeking antidotes to defeat are tasks we shouldn't delay. Let's share texts and stories that are both a balm and a catalyst.
Jesús Núñez Perea has been a Philosophy teacher in secondary education for over thirty years in various public schools. For the last sixteen years, he has taught at IES La Basílica in Algezares. For a time, he combined his teaching with union work. Although he doesn't know the exact reasons, he has been, and continues to be, fortunate enough to enjoy his work.
The study of violence and the mechanisms of repression were among the topics that led him to obtain his Diploma of Advanced Studies in Philosophy. Author of the novel *El cazador de instantes* (Editorial Sargantana), he continues to search for stories and characters, paper shields against injustice.
