CARTAGENA THINKS: COMIC PRESENTATION `STOLEN LESSONS. THE COMIC´.

STOLEN LESSONS, THE COMIC BOOK, belongs to the educational project BOOKS WITH MEMORY. Thirty-nine illustrators and writers from across Spain and beyond—top-level professionals and emerging talents—have joined forces to adapt the book Stolen Lessons: Why We Lost Our Memory into a comic book. In this book, more than 60 experts on the 20th century were interviewed by engaged young students, recovering the main themes that the Franco regime tried to distort, silence, or bury.
Comic artist Carlos Giménez leads a group of artists who are participating altruistically in this educational comic about our history, the proceeds of which are donated to social projects through the Vinatea Editorial Foundation. The project has received two Education and Memory awards and has been published six times.
Luis Vivas Ramos was a Geography and History teacher for 27 years. He is a member of GEA-CLÍO and other teachers' associations focused on the methodology and didactics of Social Sciences.
Among the projects he has developed with his students are Lessons from Our Grandparents, where he explains his project to teach the History of 20th Century Spain; Stolen Lessons: Why Did We Lose Our Memory?, which is written together with former students; and the latest, Stolen Lessons: The Comic.
