EXHIBITION: "BODY LANDSCAPES" Giuliana Grippo. Dora Catarineu Room

08/05/2026 - 30/06/2026 Seen: 453 times

Giuliana Grippo exhibits "CORPOREAL LANDSCAPES" at Sala Dora Catarineu from May 8 to June 30

The exhibition features the works of Giuliana Grippo, a visual artist born in Argentina who has lived in Blanca, in the heart of the Ricote Valley, since 2018. Her practice is rooted in a profound relationship with the land, in an intimate dialogue between body and landscape. Grippo works with organic materials, vulnerable to the passage of time: elements that transform, erode, and disappear. Her creative process begins with walks and explorations of the valley's natural environment.
The works emerge from the bodily memory of these experiences. They are the sensitive translation of what the body has experienced: lines, ephemeral sculptures, images that decompose. In them, the landscape is not a representation but a resonance: a trace imprinted on the body and expressed through forms that oscillate between clarity and collapse, between persistence and loss.
They are a poetic reflection on the fragility of matter and memory. An exercise in contemplation and estrangement before a landscape that, although close, always eludes us.

Giuliana (Argentina, 1990) is a visual artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She holds a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Buenos Aires, where she also completed a Master's degree in Design and Communication Theory (DICOM). Since 2016, she has combined her artistic practice with her work as a cultural manager. Her work stems from material experimentation and oscillates between two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces. She explores notions of tactile memory and sensory landscapes, producing drawings, sculptures, and ephemeral installations. She frequently incorporates organic matter, fragile and volatile materials exposed to temporal phenomena. In contrast to rigid, industrial materials, her sculptural pieces poetically portray the subtle power dynamics of everyday life.
