CARTAGENA FOLK: IV CULTIVATED BIODIVERSITY FAIR´.La Rambla Park

New to this year's Cartagena Folk Festival is the 4th Cultivated Biodiversity Fair , an initiative of the AgrosimbiosisLab project, coordinated by the University of Murcia, with CEBAS-CSIC as a collaborating entity . This fair adds a vibrant journey through the biocultural territory of the Campo de Cartagena to the festival's cultural spirit. AgrosimbiosisLab is supported by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge , through its call for proposals for environmental restoration and improvement in the agricultural sector, contributing to the recovery of the Mar Menor's ecological functionality.

  • FRIDAY, JUNE 5

Cooking workshop with seasonal and local products . From 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Location: Exhibition Tent.

Workshop on Biodiversity Associated with Iberian Agroecosystems . From 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. WORKSHOP TENT

  • SATURDAY, JUNE 6

Interactive talk on the astronomical origins of agriculture. 5:00 PM. Outreach Tent

Telescopic observations of the Sun. From 12 to 2 pm and from 5 to 7 pm. Outreach Tent

Workshop on wild flora and the preparation of medicinal ointments.  10:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Workshop Tent

Seed extraction workshop for traditional varieties. At 12 pm. Workshop tent.

Interactive talk on the astronomical origins of agriculture.  At 5 pm in the Outreach Tent

Workshop on making plant-based milks. At 5 pm in the Outreach Tent.

The ecosystem role of bees and the importance of their care (the beehive as a teaching tool). At 6 pm in the Synergy Tent

Homemade canning workshop: basic principles and safe preparation.  7pm in the WORKSHOP TENT.

No registration required:

Pumpkin recipe tasting and demonstration. From 12 to 1 pm in the SYNERGY TENT. Chef Pedro Pedreño.
