Where does it take place?
The first conference, "The Campo de Cartagena-Mar Menor as a Biocultural Territory," will be held on June 15th at the El Batel Auditorium and Conference Center. This event will bring together specialists, institutional representatives, and the agri-food sector, and invites the public to reflect on the sustainable future of this unique territory. The initiative's main objective is to raise awareness about ecosystem conservation, agricultural activity, cultural heritage, and economic development, all of which are part of the same territorial reality.
During this first conference, the publication "Bioitineraries through the Biocultural Territory of Campo de Cartagena-Mar Menor" will be presented. This guide highlights the main natural, historical, and productive resources through different thematic routes. The program will include roundtables and discussions with experts from various fields to address all aspects of territorial management, sustainability, and the importance of society in the conservation and improvement of the environment. The meeting is organized by AgrosimbiósisLab, in coordination with the University of Murcia (UMU), CEBAS-CSIC, and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), and with the support of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, the Biodiversity Foundation, and the Framework for Priority Actions to Recover the Mar Menor. Furthermore, the event will serve as a forum for collaboration and collaboration between scientists, government agencies, businesses, and the public, promoting a variety of initiatives that contribute to the recovery of the Mar Menor and the strengthening of the biocultural identity of the Campo de Cartagena as a model of sustainable development for future generations.
